A small update on EU shipping.

A small update on EU shipping.

As of August 12, the EU’s new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) has come into application.

The purpose behind the regulation is an important one: reducing packaging waste and creating a more circular system across Europe.

But for small e-commerce businesses like ours, adapting to the new regulation also comes with a considerable amount of administration.

Selling and shipping a product across an EU border isn’t only about the product itself. The packaging it arrives in creates responsibilities too. Depending on where we sell, this can mean understanding national requirements, registrations, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), reporting, fees and representation in individual EU markets.

For a large company, there may be a compliance department handling this. For a small independent business, it becomes another part of running the company that has to be researched, understood and implemented correctly.

Rather than continuing to ship while we work through those requirements, we have therefore temporarily paused orders and shipping to EU countries outside Sweden.

We’re currently reviewing the markets we ship to and making the necessary changes so that we can reopen EU shipping responsibly and in compliance with the new requirements.

Sweden remains open as usual. 🖤
